Detached Dept. of the Women’s Penitentiary - Repy facility
The women’s prison was opened as a European rarity in the House of St. Charles Boromei on September 10th, 1996.
Sentenced women work in the Order’s House as sanitary nurses, cooks, bakers and as cleaning ladies.
Thus, within the House a community of Boromei Nuns, sentenced women, old and ill patients and prison staff learn how to live together.
The work of this community continues in the original tradition on the Boromei Nuns in Bohemia - that is to work with prisoners.
For eighty years in this House the Boromei Nuns have been taking care of women in the regional penitentiary in the Predlitavsko Region.
Today’s community, in the House of St. Charles Boromei, continues in the above mentioned tradition.
